Aircraft Twirls Out of Control into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Coast
A helicopter flying over a crowded California shoreline suddenly started spinning uncontrollably, finally dropping height and smashing into a row of palm fronds as spectators watched.
Recordings uploaded online depict the aircraft beginning to twirl over the shoreline then plunging near the perimeter of the beach, where it gets stuck amidst palm groves and a set of stairs near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders said five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the incident on the weekend.
Three persons on the pavement were harmed. Details on their condition were not yet released.
